Something that has come to my attention lately is the need for "certainty" over survivability.
Case in point: a man who's too afraid to initiate the sex, because he doesn't think he's going to be able to get hard.
So in order to maintain his identity, he'd rather wait (however many days, months, even years) until he is "certain" his erection will be infallible before trying to get it up in the bedroom.
But here's the thing.
Nobody is infallible.
Everybody can have a tough day at the office.
I've witnessed it firsthand. Prior to injections becoming de rigueur around 2015, I witnessed a lot of guys fail.
In the early 2000s I used to "stunt cock" fairly regularly for guys that struggled. (The stunt cock was the guy who ended up doing the sex scene with just his body while the editors cut the footage to the face of the guy who failed)
Hell, I even talk about my worst scene ever with Nina Whett in a junkyard where I was up... and down, and barely pulled out the win. But I was nearly on the cusp of failure.
So even the best of the best can have an off day.
The only certainty in life is death (taxes might even be optional), so to aspire to certainty is already playing a game you can never win and will only cost you:
- Getting sexual with your partner.
- Learning how your body responds.
- Internal peace from overcoming an obstacle.
Survivability, however, is a skillset.
It's the ability to troubleshoot in real time, feel your body, the environment, and adjust.
Taking a moment where things aren't working out, and staying with it to shift the erection towards the positive, because when you do that your whole map of reality changes. Now you feel sovereign in the truest sense of the word.
Unless you are truly suffering from a medical issue, the game's never over until YOU give up.
There is a position, a sensory redirection, an act that will spark the psychological pathway, a stroke length that will work.
But you have to believe it will.
Because if you're sitting on the sidelines of sex waiting for certainty, you'll miss out on some of the best years of your sex life.
